How does JoinMeWaka ensure safety?

JoinMeWaka prioritizes your safety with multiple layers of protection: all users must verify their identity with government-issued documents, drivers must upload vehicle registration and insurance, we have a comprehensive rating and review system, real-time GPS tracking for all rides, an SOS emergency button that alerts help centers instantly, and preference-based matching to ensure compatible co-travelers.

What are multi-hop or relay rides?

Multi-hop rides allow you to reach your destination even when no single driver goes all the way. Our smart system combines multiple rides from different drivers along your route, with seamless transfers at intermediate points. You’ll receive notifications about each leg of your journey, and the system automatically coordinates timing between drivers to minimize wait times.

How is pricing determined?

Drivers set their own delivery or ride prices based on distance, demand, and convenience. When a passenger (or sender) requests a ride or delivery, nearby verified drivers receive the request and submit their price offers.

The passenger then receives multiple price quotes from different drivers going the same direction and can choose the option that best fits their budget, timing, and preference.

This system ensures fair competition, transparent pricing, and flexibility for both drivers and passengers.

Can I choose who I ride with?

Yes! JoinMeWaka features an advanced preference matching system. You can set preferences for music style, conversation level (talkative or quiet), smoking, pets, gender, age group, and more. The system will only show you rides that match your preferences, and drivers can also set their passenger preferences. This ensures a comfortable journey for everyone.

What payment methods are accepted?

JoinMeWaka supports multiple payment methods including in-app wallet, credit/debit cards, and cash. The wallet is set as the default payment mode with a per-transaction cap, and any remaining amount can be paid via your chosen method. All online transactions are secured with industry-standard encryption.

How do I become a driver on JoinMeWaka?
To become a driver, sign up on the app and switch to driver mode. You’ll need to upload your driving license, vehicle registration certificate, insurance documents, and vehicle details (make, model, color, number of seats). Once verified by our team, you can start posting rides and earning by sharing your empty seats with passengers going your way.
 
Can I schedule rides in advance?
Drivers can post rides up to a week in advance and even set up recurring rides for regular routes. Passengers can search for and book rides for future dates. This is perfect for daily commutes, weekend trips, or planned travel where you want to secure your ride ahead of time.
What happens if a ride is cancelled?
Both drivers and passengers can cancel rides, but we encourage timely communication. If a driver cancels, passengers are immediately notified and can search for alternative rides. In multi-hop journeys, if one leg is cancelled, the system automatically suggests alternative routes. Frequent cancellations may affect user ratings and account standing.
Is JoinMeWaka available in my city?
JoinMeWaka is rapidly expanding across multiple cities. The platform supports up to 40 geofenced cities with plans for continued growth. Download the app to check availability in your area. Even if your city isn’t currently active, you can sign up to be notified when we launch in your region.

How does JoinMeWaka Courier work?

It’s simple! Upload a photo of the item you want to send, enter the pickup and drop-off addresses, and nearby verified drivers will receive your delivery request. Each driver can quote their price, and you’ll receive multiple offers. Choose the driver you prefer, confirm, and track your package in real time until it’s delivered.

How is pricing determined?

Drivers set their own prices based on distance, time, and package size. When you send a request, you’ll receive different price offers from available drivers heading in your direction. You can compare and choose the one that best fits your budget. No hidden fees — you only pay the agreed amount.

What can I send through JoinMeWaka Courier?

You can send almost anything that fits safely in a vehicle or motorcycle, including:

  • Small parcels and personal items

  • Documents and office materials

  • E-commerce orders

  • Food and groceries

  • Gifts and packages

However, dangerous, illegal, or prohibited items (such as weapons, narcotics, or hazardous materials) are not allowed.

How do I ensure my package is safe?

Safety is our top priority. All courier drivers on JoinMeWaka are verified with valid ID, vehicle documents, and profile checks. You can also track your delivery live through the app and receive delivery confirmation once your item is received by the recipient.

Can I communicate directly with the driver?

Yes! Once you select a driver, you can chat or call directly within the app to coordinate pickup time, location, or special handling instructions.

How do I pay for courier deliveries?

Payments can be made securely through the app using your JoinMeWaka wallet, card, or cash, depending on your preference. The total payment is based on the price you accepted from the driver’s offer.

Can I track my delivery in real-time?

Absolutely! You’ll receive live GPS tracking from pickup to drop-off. Both sender and receiver can follow the driver’s movement in real-time until the delivery is complete.

What if my package gets lost or damaged?

All drivers are responsible for the safe handling of your items. In case of loss or damage, contact our support team immediately through the app or at support@joinmewaka.com, and our team will investigate and help resolve the issue promptly.

Can drivers deliver multiple packages at once?

Yes, verified drivers can accept multiple delivery requests if the routes align. However, each delivery is tracked and recorded separately to ensure accountability and transparency.

JoinMeWaka Courier currently operates in major cities across Nigeria, including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and more. We’re continuously expanding to serve additional regions nationwide.

How do I become a courier driver?

If you own a car, bike, or van and want to earn extra income, you can join as a JoinMeWaka Courier Driver.
Simply download the app, register as a driver, complete verification, and start accepting delivery requests.

Can I schedule deliveries in advance?

Yes. You can schedule a pickup and delivery time that works best for you and the driver. This helps ensure your item gets delivered exactly when you need it to.

Is there a weight or size limit for packages?

Yes, limits depend on the type of vehicle:

  • Motorcycles: Small parcels up to 10 kg

  • Cars: Medium parcels up to 50 kg

  • Vans: Large or multiple items up to 200 kg
